An 100% Sangiovese wine that ferments in amphora for 6 month and ages in 5hl Imprunetta clay jars made by hand without a mold and without glaze.
The wine has a clear, transparent ruby color. After breathing the aroma becomes intense with scents of cherry, black cherry and wild strawberry followed by notes of cacao and moss. The mouthfeel has an unexpected depth with a lot of licorice, pepper and black cherry making it light and easy to drink with a nice fruity finish. Only 3.500 bottles were produced.
‘Troccolone’ in the local dialect is the old name for a merchant who would bring goods to the Val d’Orcia and barter them for agricultural products.
